Your data and access
In plain words: what Tovi reads, where it is kept, what leaves your computer and how to stop it. The full text is the Privacy Policy.
What stays on your computer
Everything you make in Tovi lives in a folder you choose: projects, video and sound, transcripts, voice-overs, subtitles, edits, project documents and the figures Tovi reads from your channels. The keys you give Tovi are kept apart from your projects, in Tovi's own folder on your computer, encrypted by your operating system. We have no copy of any of it.
When something leaves your computer
| Where it goes | What, and when |
|---|---|
| Our server (OVH, France) | Your Tovi account: your email, a one-way hash of your password or your Google sign-in, and the computers where you are signed in. Nightly copies are kept for 30 days at Amazon Web Services in Stockholm. |
| Brevo | Your email address and the letter, only to deliver confirmation and password codes. |
| YouTube and TikTok | After you connect a channel, Tovi asks them for its figures. |
| Our server, on the way to TikTok | Connecting, renewing and ending a TikTok connection passes through our server, which adds a secret only we may hold. It writes down only that the request was made and whether it worked. |
| The AI model you choose | Only when you press send, after Tovi shows exactly what will be sent. |
| Your own agent's provider | Your channels' figures and comments, only in the projects where you turned this on. |
| Services you add keys for | What the tool you run for a project sends to that service. |
| Publishers of components | The first time a feature needs FFmpeg, a Python package or a speech or voice model, Tovi downloads it. Like any download, it shows your IP address. |
| Google, when you play a video | YouTube's own player loads when you press play. |
| GitHub, once a day | Tovi asks for the number of its newest version, to offer you an update. Nothing else is sent. |
| Vercel | Hosts this website and counts its visits anonymously. |
What Tovi reads from your channels
- YouTube
- Your channel and its videos, including unlisted and private ones: titles, thumbnails and counts. YouTube Analytics reports: views, watch time, audience retention, traffic sources. Your Google account's email address. The public comments under your newest videos.
- TikTok
- Your profile, your account's counts and your public videos: description, cover, views, likes, comments and shares.
Tovi only reads. It never changes, uploads or deletes anything on YouTube or TikTok.
How long it is kept
- Titles, thumbnails and other descriptive values are refreshed or deleted within 30 days of being read.
- When 30 days pass without Tovi confirming a channel's access, everything from that channel is deleted.
- Comments are kept for at most 30 days, with nothing about who wrote them.
- A TikTok connection ends one year after you allowed it. You can connect again.
Disconnect a channel or revoke access
- In Tovi
- Remove the channel or its project. Its data is deleted at once and the access is revoked.
- At Google
- Remove Tovi on Google's security settings page.
- At TikTok
- Remove Tovi's access in the TikTok app.
Delete your Tovi account
In Tovi, open Settings → Account → Delete account, or write to support@tovi.work. The account is removed at once; the nightly copies expire 30 days later. Your projects stay on your computer.
